Iowa Head Coach Kirk Ferentz said at Friday's Johnson County I-Club Event that he expected his defensive coordinator, Norm Parker. The veteran coach is expected to watch the game against Michigan State from the Kinnick Stadium press box.

Hawkeye Defensive Coordinator Norm Parker is expected to return to Kinnick Stadium on Saturday when Iowa plays host to No. 5 Michigan State on Saturday, Head Coach Kirk Ferentz said.

"We expect Norm to be back in the press box," Ferentz said at Friday morning's weekly Johnson County I-Club Event. "He'll be coming down from the rehabilitation center. He'll be up there (Saturday) afternoon. He's excited about that."

Parker has been away from the team since the opener against Eastern Illinois. The Michigan native was admitted to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics on Sept. 10 and later had his right foot amputated due to complications from diabetes.

Parker joined up with Ferentz when the latter took over the head coaching position at Iowa 12 seasons ago. Parker spent 12 seasons (1983-94) coaching at Michigan State. He's been coaching since 1965.
