With players like Dez Bryant, Joe Haden, Rolando McClain, Earl Thomas, Carlos Dunlap, Cam Newton and Golden Tate, the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl Game is always a good one. In it's 5th year, the game features some of the best college prospects in the country.
One player that made the offensive roster was Iowa commitment Austin Blythe. The Scout.com 3-star offensive guard played a major role in the West topping the East squad 35-21.
“It was awesome. I learned a lot,” said Blythe to HawkeyeInsider.com. “I don't think my level of fun would have been affected if we would have lost, but it was fun. I'm glad that I did it. It was a great experience.”
The game was Blythe's last high school action until the Iowa Shrine Bowl. The senior will now focus on the next step, getting his body ready for Iowa. Blythe watched the Hawkeyes down Missouri in the Insight Bowl game
“It was a fantastic way to end the year after the season they had,” said Blythe. “I think things will now calm down. Some people were overreacting.”
