Detroit Cass Tech OLB Laron Taylor ended his recruitment on Friday by pledging to the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Iowa added its ninth known verbal commitment in the Class of 2012 on Friday when Detroit Cass Tech linebacker Laron Taylor pledged to the Hawkeyes. He chose the Big Ten school ahead of Cincinnati of the Big East.

Scout.com ranks the 6-foot-. 210-pound Taylor as a three-star recruit on its five-star scale. The service tabs him as the 58th-ranked outside linebacker nationally in his class.

Taylor finished his junior season with 105 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, seven sacks, three fumbles recovered, two fumbles caused and one interception. He says he can bench 225-pounds 14 times, squat 375 and has a 32-inch vertical jump.

Taylor's teammate, Ruben Lile, announced his Top 3 at Friday's announcement. He said it was Iowa, Wisconsin and Toledo.
