SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - A familiar face stopped by Iowa football practice here at Chaparrel High on Tuesday. Former Hawkeye Safety Standout and current NFL veteran Sean Considine took some time to talk about his beloved Alma Mater.
With Iowa replacing retiring defensive coordinator Norm Parker after Friday's Insight Bowl against Oklahoma, Considine spoke about one of the candidates - Phil Parker. The Hawkeyes defensive backs coach since head coach Kirk Ferentz took over the program in 1999, Parker has been thought of as the favorite to lead the defense since Norm stepped down earlier this month.
"I'm loyal to Coach (Phil) Parker," said Consideine, a current member of the Arizona Cardinals. "He taught me the game of football. I came here as a walk-on safety with a lot to learn. As a result of he taught me, I've played seven years in the NFL."
