After thinking it over for a few days, Class of 2013 Ohio Defensive Tackle Brant Gressel
was the college for him. He pledged to the Hawkeyes Monday night after visiting the school over the weekend.
"I felt great after the visit and wanted the weekend to figure it out," the 6-foot-2, 278-pound Gressel said in a text message Monday night. "I feel like I can fit in there. I can see myself in the Black and Gold for four years! The coaches were very welcoming and I'm excited about my future."
Scout.com rates Gressel as a three-star recruit on its five-star scale. He's listed by the service as the nation's 49th-best defensive tackle in the 2013 Classes.
Gressel reported scholarship offers from Cincinnati, Iowa, Louisville, Minnesota, NC State, Pittsburgh and West Virginia, among others. He listed 13 in all.
Gressel joins David Kenney, Derrick Willies, Delano Hill, Colin Goebel and Nathan Bazata as known verbals in the '13 Iowa class.
