Des Moines Lincoln Athlete Trevon Young decided on Sunday that it was time for him to be an Iowa Hawkeye. He talks about his pledge in this story.

If there is one thing that defines Iowa's 15 verbal commitments in the 2013 class, it might be versatility. One of the latest players to join the group has shown the ability to play multiple positions as well.

Des Moines Lincoln's Trevon Young is being brought in as an athlete. Iowa is considering him at linebacker, defensive end and tight end, he said.

"They're not sure which one yet, though," the 6-foot-4, 220-pound Young said. "I like all three positions, really. I think the most attractive thing about me was my versatility. I can play a lot of positions and I'm a little quicker than most guys my size."

Young unofficially visited Iowa on Friday. He took a few days to sort through his thoughts before committing.

"I was just thinking about it and talking to my family about it," Young said. "Everybody just felt like Iowa would be the best choice. I just felt like Iowa was the best place to develop me into the best player I can be."

Young said that he followed Iowa a little more than Iowa State growing up but "I was never a diehard fan of either."

Young, also plays basketball at Lincoln, wants to play faster on the gridiron.

"I just need to work on gong downhill a little bit more," he said. "Last year, I didn't feel like I went downhill enough. I have to work on those type of things."
