IOWA CITY, Iowa - The Iowa football team received good news regarding the 2014 season before the current one concluded.
The Hawkeyes announced Monday that junior left tackle Brandon Scherff would be returning for his final campaign next fall. He was thought to be a potential first-round draft pick this spring.
"“I am excited to say that I will be staying at the University of Iowa for my senior season in 2014," Scherff said in a school release. "I am looking forward to the 2014 Outback Bowl and playing an outstanding opponent in LSU, and then working as hard as possible with my teammates to prepare for my senior year as a Hawkeye.”
Scherff, a Denison native, earned first-team all-Big Ten honors this fall. He missed half of his sophomore season with a leg injury.
