Ferentz Discusses Outback Prep

Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz met with the media on Monday at the Coralville Outback Steakhouse as his team enjoyed lunch at the restaurant. He spoke about bowl prep, team health and what he sees from LSU.

CORALVILLE, Iowa - Iowa Coach Kirk Ferentz kicked off Monday's Outback luncheon here with a press conference while his players ate at the restaurant.

It was Ferentz's first meeting with Journalists since it was announced on Sunday, Dec. 8 that the Hawkeyes would be playing LSU in the Outback Bowl Jan. 1 in Tampa.

"They're very athletic and very physical," Ferentz said of the Tigers. "They kind of look like a prof football team in a lot of ways. Their offensive line has great size. They're three or maybe four deep at running back. They have two outstanding receivers.

"Defensivley, the same thing, they've got big guys on the interior defensive line, athletic guys in the outside, linebackers that can run and their secondary not only has good athleticism but really good size. On top of that, they have the leading return guy in the country. Outside of that, not too much to worry about."
