It's An Erie Thing

The success of the Iowa football program's recruiting pursuits in the city of Erie, Pennsylvania are well documented. Bob Sanders was a three-time 1st team all Big Ten performer. Ed Hinkle has been a starting wide out for years and Jovon Johnson played and started some games at cornerback as a true freshman. Iowa is after another Erie prep, offensive lineman Kyle Mitchum. <i>Hawkeye Nation's</i> Rob Howe recently wrote a story on Mitchum that will help Iowa fans get to know him better.

Kyle Mitchum loves football so much that he finds it difficult to list any other hobbies. When pressed on it, he goes with weightlifting. The offensive lineman from Erie, Pa., dreams of someday transforming his 6-foot-5, 270-pound frame into one able to play in the NFL.
