Josh Brent will undoubtedly rank as one of Illinois's top prospects in the Class of 2007, and while the Iowa Hawkeyes were only his third of what will likely be many scholarship offers, Brent walked away from his Iowa visit greatly impressed.
"Iowa is a nationally elite program," said Brent, who scored a 21 on the ACT (he will re-take it this Saturday). "They have some of the best facilities that I have seen, and they have one of the best coaching staff's that I've been around. Their coaches are not only passionate about their job, and they may teach technique over and over, but at the end of the day they still want to make sure you are a good person."
Brent received his offer from the Hawkeyes in a meeting with Coach Ferentz shortly before the Hawkeyes began their practice.
"I was pulled into Coach Ferentz's office shortly before practice began, and he just told me he really, really liked what he saw on film. He said he liked what he saw and more importantly, he thought I was a good person. That was probably the greatest compliment I could have received. He told me that I had an offer on the table that was there for the taking at any time," Brent stated.
Brent went much more in-depth with regards to his visit and Iowa experience, providing greater detail and insight in this REPORT offered exclusively in the HN Clubhouse.
