An Iowa high school athlete is now a US Army All American.
Iowa Class of 2007 commit Tyler Nielsen of Humboldt, Iowa was named to the US Army All American team today at a ceremony conducted at Humboldt High School.
The 6-foot-4, 215 linebacker committed to Iowa this summer, along with his high school teammate Cody Hundertmark.
Nielsen is the first Iowan to make the team since Tyler Blum played in the 2005 US Army All American Bowl. He is a four-star prospect as rated by Scout.com, and is among the top 10 linebackers in the nation.
The event will take place in San Antonio on January 6th, and Nielson will be one of approximately 80 preps from around the nation to make this most prestigious all star team.
