Q: Talk about going up against a receiving core, even without Manningham, one of the best in the Big Ten in Michigan.
Adam Shada: They absolutely have a very talented receiving core. It's going to be a challenge for us, and we're looking forward to getting go on it.
Q: How do you guys bounce back?
Shada: It's the same thing as a win. 24 hours have passed, the mind's completely off that, focus on Michigan. It's going to be good to get the bad taste out of our mouth.
Q: The defense overall, obviously not what you wanted to see against Indiana going into the Michigan game, how do you guys right the ship in just a few days?
Shada: I think the tempo's going to be set these next few days in practice. We have to start practicing with some more intensity and tempo, be flying around to the ball. That's one thing we definitely didn't do well against Indiana, we didn't have the tempo and energy. That starts at about 4:00 today.
Q: Is it a wake-up call for you guys? You don't have much room to do that again.
Shada: Absolutely. I guess you could consider it a wake up call. We didn't come to play on Saturday. Indiana played a great game, you've got to give them credit, but that wasn't Iowa football. We have to get back to the fundamentals and start playing some physical and high speed defense like we're used to.
Q: What do you know about Adrian Arrington?
Shada: Just from the film I've watched, he's got good hands. He's a big guy, good speed, and he runs good routes. He finds a way to get open, and their QB obviously does a good job of getting him the ball. It's going to be a challenge, but we're looking forward to it.
Q: You weren't in the same recruiting weekend as him, were you?
Shada: No, I don't remember ever meeting him.
Q: Can you talk more, not just Arrington, but Breaston, their speed overall, the RB position as well. Their athletes, it's kind of like you're facing OSU again.
Shada: They have good receivers, but you approach it just any time you've got a good receiver. You don't stop them with one person, we've all got to be flying to the ball. Short passes can turn into long passes, just like Ohio State. We've got to make sure that we're running around. Like I said, that'll start today in practice, we've got to get the tempo set.
Q: Talk about the opportunity, in the span of 3 weeks, to face the #1 team and now the #2 team.
Shada: It's absolutely a great opportunity. That's why a lot of us came here, to play in big games like that. We're looking forward to it. We definitely have to play better than we did last week, and that's going to start in practice. I think we'll definitely show some improvement this week.
