| An All-ACC Candidate as a returning two-year starter and most experienced player on the Seminoles’ roster in 2002-03... enters the 2002-03 season as the current Seminoles’ leader in six career categories – points per game (8.6 ppg), rebounds per game (5.3 rpg), 3-point shots made (45), assists per game (1.4 apg), steals per game (1.0 spg) and minutes played per game (28.1 mpg)... led Florida State with a career-high .403 3-point shooting percentage as a sophomore... a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference All-Rookie team in 2001... the second player in Florida State men’s basketball history to earn ACC All-Rookie Team honors... earned high honorable mention freshman All-America mention by the Bob Gibbons All-Star Report, also in 2001... earned ACC Rookie of the Week honors twice during his inaugural season... followed his outstanding freshman season with a solid sophomore year... made a career-high 31 3-point shots to rank third on the team in 2001-02... ranked second on the team and 15th in the ACC with a 2.0 offensive rebounds per game average... ranked 14th in the ACC with a 2.1 offensive rebounds per game average as a freshman... is one of only six players (and one of only four returning players) who has ranked in the ACC’s top 15 in offensive rebounds in both of the last two seasons (Joiner, teammate Nigel Dixon, Travis Watson and Chris Williams of Virginia, Chris Hobbs of Clemson and Lonny Baxter of Maryland)... ranked 15th in the ACC and second among all conference freshman in rebounding (6.0 rpg) for the season and ranked 13th in the ACC and first among all freshman in blocked shots (0.9 bpg) during the 2000-01 season... grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds against Wake Forest Jan. 9, 2001 to mark the most by a conference freshman during the 2000-01 season and the most ever by a Seminole freshman in an ACC game... Joiner’s 17 rebounds against Wake Forest surpassed the previous record for an ACC game by a Seminole of 15…the record had been held by Doug Edwards (15 against Clemson, March 12, 1993) and Rodney Dobard (15 against Maryland, Jan. 18, 1992)... in addition, Joiner tied Florida State’s ACC record for defensive rebounds in a game... a big man with great court vision and a strong ability to find his teammates as evidenced by his 1.4 assists per game average for his 58-game career entering his junior season. |
