| With injuries to Larry Foote and James Farrior, the Steelers added LB Mike Jones in November 2002. Jones is familiar with the Steelers defense, having been on the roster the entire 2001 season. Mike started his NFL career with the Raiders in 1991, who picked him up as a rookie free agent. He spent the next 6 seasons there, eventually becoming a starter for the 1995 and 1996 seasons. He moved on to St. Louis in 1997 and is well-known for his game-saving tackle in the Rams' Super Bowl XXXIV victory. Mike was a starter for every game at St. Louis (1997-2000). The Steelers signed him for the 2001 season, but with the emergence of Kendrell Bell, cut him in June 2002. He returned to the Raiders for a short while early in the 2002 season before being released, leaving him available for the Steelers. |
